How to Go About Learning to Dive on Holiday

Many holidaymakers, of the more active variety, book a holiday with the emphasis on learning to dive. One of the best places in the world to do this is Egypt. Egypt is a great location for the beginning diver. With its warm waters, fantastic weather and clear visibility, it makes for a fun and exciting environment so you’re very unlikely to run out of motivation here. However, time is of the essence when you’re on holiday and you will want to spend as much time in the water as you can rather than getting bogged down by theory.

Let’s look at how we can minimise the learning time whilst on your holiday so you can enjoy your holiday as much as possible. The way we do this is to begin by looking at how the course is structured. There are elements to the course which are theory, confined water diving and open water diving. The good news is that the first two parts can be completed at home so you won’t need to taking any theory tests or practising in a swimming pool whilst on holiday. All of that can be done at home.

The course doesn’t need to be completed over consecutive days. Although it is best to complete it within a short of time frame as possible so it would be advisable for you to complete the first two as close to your holiday as possible. The fact that only the third part needs to be completed whilst on your holiday is a huge advantage as you are able to spend more quality time scuba diving not to mentioned time to see the local sights and explore the local attractions,

The PADI Open Water Course is usually the course that learning scuba divers pursue. You will need to have completed the PADI Open Water Referral before you travel which takes care of the theory and confined water diving elements. This is done in just three days and you are left with two days to complete the third element.

So locate your local diving centre and call them to tell them your plans. They will be able to give you dates of course availability. You would be wise to contact a diving centre at your holiday destination also to ensure that you will be able to complete the course on holiday.
